JW Parents and kicking out their children

is it a common practice for jw parents to kick their children out of the home, if the child doesn't want to be a jw.

(even though their not disfellowshipped they will still get kicked out for not going to meetings etc.??).

do other religions encourage kicking family members out this as well?

I know of 2 different Elders in 2 completely different areas, who's son's wanted to do their own thing. Both boys had been baptized early but due to their parents choice, they lived a very secluded and controlled JW life.

The Dad's were both so kind and humble, really good guy Elders but were embarrassed at the choices their sons made. The different CO they each had told them they had the "respect" of their congo's so they need not step down. The boys lived at home for a while until they decided what to do.

One son went away to University and never came back. The other drove a days distance from his parents, in time, bought into a successful business, and he never came back home again either.

Neither wanted to have anything to do with the religion they were brought up in and that their parents hung onto so tightly.

My mums dying she refuses blood transfusion...the horror.

mum has a mild form of lukeimia if she took blood like normal people she could live to be 100. but no, anointed sisters dont compromise jehovah wont allow it.

so here i am moving to sydney for one month going to hospital everyday putting my life on hold to watch my mother die slowly.

watching her gasp for air, struggle to breath.

You must be so stressed. I am so sorry this tragedy is happening right now in your family.

I feel so sorry for everyone all around. Your dear Mom has been brainwashed for so many decades to not accept blood that she can't help but follow what the GB has decided God has told them to do in this twenty first century situation.

Blood and doctors are on the ready to help. Such a shame. How it must truly pain them to see an old fashioned, uneducated religious group make these deathly decisions. If the JDubs think they are making a great witness, they are horribly wrong! It will just make the JW's stand out as even more brainwashed and cultish than ever.

Death will come for all of us, but thank goodness for the scientific and medical community that know how to make people well so they can live a good long life.

Am I selfish?

tonight i had an argument with both my parents.

my parents are aware of my feelings towards the organization, and it saddens them because i am their first born son.

they had high expectations of me, my father dreamt of him and i serving together as elders.

Did your parents say they really love you? If they do, then they should be happy to let you decide what you want to do with your life. Obviously, they don't like the road you have picked.

Also obviously you have a good thinking mind and a good heart not wanting to be involved with a religion that intentionally covers up pedophiles and has flip flopping doctrines done intentionally to keep good, naive people, like your parents, too confused to do anything but repeat what is said at the Kingdom Hall. How much brain power does it take to regurgitate what the reader at the WT just read aloud... and now the dumbdowned people are supposed to raise their hand and say the exact same thing back to the WT conductor? How dumb is that?

So, are you selfish for making better choices than your parents did?

No.

Your dear parents, week after week, month after year have been systematically brainwashed. JW..org tell them "Don't miss any meetings! Do everything like we tell you to!". JW..org knows they are brainwashing people. That is the only way they can keep the good people, obediently giving them money every month. Brainwashing. Smart people like you wake up and leave.

recently quit being a jw because i realised that beyond armageddon i was going to be ruled by people who cover up child abuse, not telling the congregations by their letter where the money they donated in the box is going towards paying compensation for legal battles which they caused, and also i was bullied by elders and discriminated against for being homosexual, even though i am not practicing it.

it wasn't until i threatened legal action for a breach of confidence that the elders were deleted.

so through the media and my own personal experience, i realised that they were no different to corrupt businesses in the world.

It sounds like you are an upstanding citizen that knows corruption and hypocrisy when you see it. I am happy for you. It seems like 8 million humans who tune into JW..org don't think like you or we do. Pity.

Had twin babies with a married JW?!?!?!?!?!?! advice & thoughts

before i begin i just wanna say, im not proud of what i did, it was wrong but it happened now im just trying to do the right thing.. ok so im a "worldly" person and i meet a jw women at my job.

i had no idea she was married due to the fact that she hid her wedding ring.

i even ask if she was in a relationship and she denied it.

I have no idea which country you are in but I am guessing your lawyer is working on that for you.

I say congratulations to you and your girls. You seem like a nice guy. You didn't realize you were interested and falling in love with a married woman. Why would she hide that fact from an obviously attentive man? That is being deceitful right off the bat.

The above posters have given you good information. You can be the difference in these little ones lives. Birthdays and Christmas. All they are are just marking a happy time. JW..org wants to control every aspect of their members lives. You can influence them for the better.

someone sent this link of kelso law firm and their blog post on cardinal pell being australia's most hated man.

the implications are very interesting, as this is the 3rd most powerful man in the vatican.

the catholic church is no doubt much larger than jehovah's witnesses, however, the jw's incidence of child sexual abuse is about 4 times higher than the catholic church's child sex abuse (and subsequent coverups).. the main thread tying cardinal pell and the other vatican scandals to jehovah's witnesses is the australian royal commission.

In all my decades in the JW..org money making Business of Religion, I have never heard anyone "tell" on anyone. After getting out and reconnecting with different ones, there was a lot of evil behavior taking place by active Dubs. The last one I heard of when an active JW grandmother was confronted by her grand daughter's telling her that grandmother's husband had molestated her, she was in total denial. Why her good pioneering Elder husband wouldn't do that! Then she only wanted the girl to be quiet and not rock the boat and certainly not "tell" anyone. Oh Horrors! In JW's mind set, it is worse to "tell" than to be the perpetrator! "Oh, we cannot dishonour god Jehovah's name by saying such horrid things about him and his people. Why, we might stumble some worldly person... and then we would be blood guilty that they did not commit to WT's (lies).

In the congo I grew up in and in the neighboring ones, I knew only the tip of the iceberg of what was really happening (and there was lots of evil behaviour perpetrated against children). People were getting DF for adultery and fornication, but incest and pedophilia, were not talked about. Those who are victims are usually quieted by fears of threatened death to themselves or other family members or their beloved pet. That this is the twenty first century and JW's are actually getting caught and exposed for their wickedness is 100% fantastic.

WT/JW..org holds to certain dogma's such as their 2 person rule, when all it is really doing, is covering up it's evil behaviour so that the GB can keep their business model looking clean and respectable when in all honestly, it is anything but clean and respectable. They are white washed graves that are full of rot and decay. Despicable!

@Steve. Your post made me think of the pyramid scheme of Madoff's. He needed a constant supply of money, so he was probably doing just like the GB, "Don't give up NOW". (Don't my investors know I LOVE their money??? They don't need it. I do! Gimme gimme gimme!).

One day, hopefully soon, most of the Western world with computers, will wake up to all the twisted lies and manipulations of the JW..org Business Management Group and leave.

The man behind the curtain will be exposed with all their corruption and filth. What normal person would want to be associated with THAT group?

hi everyone.. this is just a thought, while reading bill bowen's silent lambs website i was interested to find out how long ago the figure of 23,000 molesters was published.. well it was in 2002.. in the spring of 2002, silentlambs was contacted by three different sources who claimed to have connected with people inside the headquarters of the watchtower bible & tract society of new york, located in patterson , new york .

these insiders provided silentlambs contacts with a computer data base number of 23,720 child molesters on file there.

so as the spring of 2002 was just over 15 years ago i wonder how many more have been added to the list ?.

@mrmagic... You have said many things that are food for thought.

But, I also must add about innocent children (your words, groomed and brainwashed into accepting it...). When they are subjected to such abuse, they become traumatized. So traumatized by the event, that when the next unwanted touching happens, sometimes they are totally unprepared as to what to do. Innocent children expect the adults to be good and nice and to act proper, but many, unfortunately, are not what they seem.

Depending on the age of the child when abuse first happens and if it is a boy or a girl.

You are aware that for some children, their innocence is taken away so early in babyhood, diaper age, that they can become so traumatized by it all, they can become mute, and might appear to be complacent, but it is more like... What is going to happen to me next? Will I survive this time???

WT is MrEvil. Possibly the victims that step up and speak out are only the tip of the ice berg. WT does protect pedophiles. There is no denying that. How many perpetrators are there really in each congregation? If we knew, we would all be shocked!
